It's time for a new Mayor.
I feel that the City of Missoula using taxpayers' money to buy private businesses is out of line. The actual expenditures from last years budget shows $800,000 in miscellaneous expenses, shouldn't the public be able to see where every dollar is spent?
When the city uses tax dollars to buy a property, there should be a period of time for public comment before the council approves the expenditure.
The elderly are being forced out of their homes, due to high property taxes. Maybe instead of our homes being reappraised every two years, you pay taxes on the purchase price and not the reappraisal price each year.
This is a delicate issue. We need to help our fellow Montanans facing homelessness with a "hand up", not a "hand out". We need to discourage other states from sending transients to Missoula and overburdening our first responders.
